Over the past few weeks, Hanoi and neighboring northern provinces have experienced a higher than normal number of measles infections, including cases involving young adults with severe symptoms.
The U.S. Embassy in Hanoi reminds all American citizens in Vietnam that the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends that all international travelers be immune to measles. For those that aren’t already immune, proper measles vaccination is vital in preventing this disease. Information on measles, including signs and symptoms of illness and vaccination, may be found at CDC’s web site:
