    Over 110 people listened intently as Winston Fiore explained at the American Center on February 22, how and why he decided to undertake a 5,000 mile walking circuit around Southeast Asia to raise funds for the International Children’s Surgical Foundation. Fiore, who not long ago returned from a seven-month tour in Afghanistan with the United States Marine Corps, shared that his idea for “The Smile Trek” grew from a desire to help people in developing countries, such as the ones he had met during his military training in Senegal.
