Black History Month -  A Personal Reflection

Please join us at the American Center for a personal reflection of how the African American experience has changed over time. Foreign Service Specialist, Georgette Peterson will discuss the Civil Rights movement and its heroes while sharing her own experiences and those of her family.

Rural America: A Discussion of Life Outside of America’s Cities

Did you know that 25% of the US population lives outside of cities?  Many visitors to the U.S. never have a chance to leave the major metropolitan areas and see rural America.  We invite you to join Agricultural Attaché Justin Taylor and his wife Pennsylvania Vegetable farmer Carolyn Taylor, as they discuss life in rural America and Carolyn shares experiences from her family’s fifth generation farm in Western Pennsylvania.  The talk will discuss economic, educational, and lifestyle factors that influence population shifts in the United States.

Webchat: Inspiring Entrepreneur

For one week, millions of young people around the world join a growing movement of entrepreneurial people, to generate new ideas and to seek better ways of doing things. Countries across six continents come together to celebrate Global Entrepreneurship Week, an initiative to inspire young people to embrace innovation, imagination and creativity to think big and to turn their ideas into reality.

Brenden Chaney, VP of Global Campaigns from Global Entrepreneurship Week will talk about how Global Entrepreneurship has grown into over 100 countries and through thousands of activities is inspiring young people to embrace entrepreneurship.
