U.S. Jazz Band Dana Leong Coming to Vietnam

Dana Leong Band, a four-member American jazz band, will tour Vietnam from November 30-December 7, 2007 with public performances in Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC), Danang, Haiphong and Hanoi.  The U.S. Embassy in Hanoi and U.S. Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City are pleased to host their tour.

This hip hop-jazz band will give a public performance at the HCMC Opera House at 8:00 p.m. on December 1 and will continue on to Danang for a show at Trung Vuong Theater at 7:30 p.m. on December 2.  Vietnamese saxophonist Tran Manh Tuan will perform together with the group in HCMC and Danang.  The Dana Leong Band will then travel to Haiphong where they will perform for the students of Haiphong Private University on December 4 morning.  The group will give their final Vietnamese tour performance at 8:00 p.m. on December 6 at the Youth Theater in Hanoi.

The quartet will also hold classes and workshops on jazz music for students during their stay in HCMC, Haiphong and Hanoi.

The Dana Leong Band has an incredible musical chemistry that combines live grooves, electronically charged tracks, rhyme and reason. Bandleader Leong uses a laptop both onstage and in the studio to create soundscapes of electronic beats and to manipulate the sound of instruments through real time processing.
