First ever U.S.-Vietnam S&T Days to be held in Hanoi, Nov. 15-18
 
The U.S. Embassy-Hanoi and the Vietnamese Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST) are co-sponsoring the first U.S.-Vietnam Science and Technology (S&T) Days in Hanoi on November 15-16, 2005 at the National Cultural Friendship Palace Hall B.   S&T Days will showcase U.S.- Vietnam science and technological achievements and include seminars on the commercialization of technology, disaster mapping and technology, water pollution, and the Millennium Science Initiative and Centers of Excellence.
 
The United States and Vietnam agreed to jointly host the first ever Science and Technology Days as they see that cooperation in science and technology area is productive and conducive to continued economic growth, and can foster mutual understanding. 

As 2005 marks the 10-year anniversary of normalizing U.S.-Vietnam diplomatic relations, the general public, government representatives, businesses and public institutions are invited to the Science and Technology Days.  This event will signify the importance of furthering science and technology bilateral relations between the two countries.  The annual U.S.-Vietnam Joint Committee Meeting on Scientific and Technological Cooperation (JCM) will immediately follow the Science and Technology Days on November 17-18.


International Education Week hosted by U.S. Embassy-Hanoi, Nov. 14-18
The U.S. Embassy-Hanoi will host an International Education Week in Hanoi from November 14-18, at the Rose Garden Tower, #170 Ngoc Khanh Street.
International Education Week is an opportunity to celebrate the benefits of international education and exchange worldwide.
This joint initiative of the U.S. Department of State and the U.S. Department of Education is part of our effort to promote programs that prepare Americans for a global environment and attract future leaders from abroad to study, learn, and exchange experiences in the United States.
Events throughout the Week include discussions about U.S. scholarship opportunities, presentations on U.S. education, visa application process for students, finding various resources for undergraduate/graduate studies in the U.S., researching colleges, and preparing for the TOEFL/GRE.  There will also be an online chat in which two American hosts will answer questions about student life in the U.S.
