Vietnam’s first wireless broadband pilot to be launched in Lao Cai province

The U.S. Embassy, Intel, Vietnam Data Communications (VDC), and the Lao Cai Province People’s Committee will launch Vietnam’s first trial WiMAX broadband network on Friday morning, October 27, 2006, in Lao Cai.  U.S. Deputy Chief of Mission Jonathan Aloisi, senior officials from the US Agency for International Development (USAID) and representatives of Intel and VDC partners will participate in a ceremony at the Provincial Post Office to open and test this historic and groundbreaking pilot program.
