U.S. Chargé d'Affaires Jonathan M. Aloisi expressed his condolences and concern to Vietnamese victims of Typhoon Xangsane today . His message follows:

I was saddened to learn of the damage, injury and loss of life from Typhoon Xangsane.  On behalf of the people of the United States of America, please accept my condolences.  Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims and their families, and we hope for the quick recovery of those who remain missing. 

We will never forget the kindness and generosity of the people of Vietnam in responding to the United States in our own time of need following Hurricane Katrina.  The United States stands prepared to offer assistance to help Vietnam overcome the negative effects of this natural disaster.
