United States Mission Seeks Concept Papers for HIV/AIDS Outreach Programs in 2008

The U.S. Mission to Vietnam is seeking concept papers from competent local organizations and groups interested in designing and implementing small programs or activities for HIV/AIDS outreach in 2008. The funding for these activities is part of the larger U.S. President's Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) in Vietnam, with a total funding level of US$88 million for Fiscal Year 2008. Since 2004, the United States has provided more than US$ 232 Million for programs in Viet Nam through PEPFAR.

All outreach activities must be completed by December 31, 2008. Special emphasis will be placed on media related events and activities which disseminate and share information reflecting the education and outreach goals of PEPFAR.

Selection criteria includes: activities which the local community can operate and maintain, and events which provide support to key media objectives and events which serve to expand public awareness of PEPFAR programs designed to combat HIV/AIDS and associated stigmas, and to increase awareness of prevention, and treatment.

Multiple awards will be made, each not to exceed US $10,000 (ten thousand U.S. dollars) prior to October 31, 2008. Concept papers of up to 3 pages in length, specifying program / activity objectives, target group(s), duration, and funding details, should be submitted by October 10, 2008 to:
