United States Continues Assistance to Persons with Disabilities through a $102,135 Rehabilitation Grant

The US Agency for International Development (USAID) announced a grant of approximately $102,135 to the Vietnam Veterans of America Foundation to continue its work in the field of physical rehabilitation in Vietnam. The program will support Vietnam’s institutions to provide appropriate rehabilitation services to persons with disabilities; delivering and fitting of prosthetic and orthotics devices, training and mentoring to rehabilitation practitioners in Vietnam and financial support for patients in Ha Giang, Nam Dinh, Ha Nam, Hoa Binh and Thai Binh provinces
 
Funding for this activity is provided by USAID’s Patrick J Leahy War Victim’s Fund, which contributes financial and technical assistance and works to improve the economic, social and political integration of people living with disabilities worldwide. Since 1991, the United States has provided over $34 million to support people with disabilities living in Vietnam.
