Press conference on May 25 to announce exhibition “Ceremonial Paintings of Northern Ethnic Minorities in Vietnam “

The U.S. Embassy-Hanoi, Dong Son Today Foundation, and the Hanoi Art University will hold a press conference on May 25 to announce the opening of the exhibition “Ceremonial Paintings of Northern Ethnic Minorities in Vietnam“

Date and time of press conference: May 25, 2006, at 3:00 p.m.
Location: at Hanoi University of Fine Arts, 42 Yet Kieu, Hanoi

Reporters should register their names with Mr. Pham Trong Thuc at the U.S. Embassy, at phone 8314580 x 153 or via email phamtt@state.gov before 12 noon, May 25.

The exhibition will be open to the public from 26th May to 4th June 2006, at Hanoi University of Fine Arts, 42 Yet Kieu, Hanoi.

This exhibition is sponsored by Dong Son Today Foundation, The Embassy of the United States of America in Hanoi, and the Hanoi Art University.

For the exhibition, a group of 300 pieces primarily concentrating on the Yao culture and religion was selected from a diverse collection of over 2,000 Taoist ceremonial paintings from the communities of Yao, Tay, Nung, Cao Lan and San Diu.
