U.S. Ambassador Visits Tra Vinh, Ben Tre And Tien Giang

U.S. Ambassador to Vietnam Michael W. Marine will visit Tien Giang, Ben Tre and Tra Vinh Provinces May 3-5.  This will be Ambassador Marine’s first trip to the region.  

In Tien Giang, the Ambassador will call on Chairman Nguyen Huu Chi and provincial leaders from the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development; Bureau for Animal Health; Department of Health; and the Center for Preventive Medicine.  He will also visit Tien Giang University and speak with students.  

In Ben Tre, Ambassador Marine will meet with Chairman Cao Tan Khong and with Women’s Union, Department of Labor, War Invalid and Social Affairs, and Health Department representatives. He will also visit an Agricultural Cooperative Development International (ACDI/VOCA) cocoa project and meet with humanitarian U.S. NGO Children Home Society and Family Services. 

The Ambassador will conclude his trip in Tra Vinh where he will call on Provincial Chairman Tran Hoan Kim, tour a kindergarten built with US NGO Room to Read assistance, and visit the Cuu Long Seafood Joint Stock Company.

Ambassador Marine will speak with local press and television in all three locales.
