(Hanoi, March 17, 2008) – The United States Government, partnering with Vietnamese and American organizations, is sponsoring a series of workshops in Hanoi, Danang and Ho Chi Minh City.  The workshops will focus on good governance and strategies for encouraging entrepreneurial thinking and business leadership skills in an effort to help spread the benefits of economic growth more broadly throughout Vietnam.

Speaking at the opening ceremony this morning, U.S. Deputy Chief of Mission Jonathan M. Aloisi applauded the efforts of the the U.S.-Vietnam Trade Council and and its partners, including participants from the state of Oklahoma and Hanoi's Young Business Association, on the workshops and U.S. exchange visits.  “This workshop will provide a valuable opportunity to promote an open and ongoing dialogue between Vietnamese and American business people,” Mr. Aloisi said.  “I am confident that our Vietnamese colleagues will broaden their expertise and ability to initiate and support the economic development so critical to Vietnam’s growth and role in this global market.”
