The Fulbright Program in
Vietnam is a competitive, merit based fellowship program. Each year
hundreds of individuals apply for twenty to twenty-five fellowships.
The Program places grantees in an academic program that fits their
academic and professional needs. Since the Program began in 1992, there
have been over 200 Fulbright Fellows who have studied at highly
respected institutions across the United States. It is hoped that
Vietnamese Fulbright Fellows will acquire skills and education that
will be useful to them and their employing institutions. The primary
source of funding for the Fulbright Program is an annual appropriation
made by the U.S. Congress to the U.S. Department of State.
