Deputy Secretary of State John Negroponte to Visit Vietnam

Deputy Secretary of State John D. Negroponte will travel to Vietnam January 18 - 20 for bilateral discussions with his counterparts in the Vietnamese Government on a broad range of bilateral and global issues.

While in Hanoi, Deputy Secretary Negroponte will hold a press briefing to discuss his visit.

When: 4:45 p.m., Saturday, January 19, 2008
Where: Saigon Room, M Floor, Hilton Hanoi Opera Hotel, #1 Le Thanh Tong Street, Hanoi

Reporters who plan to attend this event must register their names with Mr. Ngo Quang Minh, U.S. Embassy Information Assistant, at phone: 04-850-5000 (ext 6150), or email: ngomq@state.gov, before 4 p.m. on January 18.  Reporters should plan to arrive at least 30 minutes before the briefing starts for security checks.  Those who arrive after 4:45 p.m. on January 19 will not be able to attend the event.
