International Education Week
International Education Week is an opportunity to celebrate the benefits of international education and exchange worldwide.
This joint initiative of the U.S. Department of State and the U.S. Department of Education is part of our effort to promote programs that prepare Americans for a global environment and attract future leaders from abroad to study, learn, and exchange experiences in the United States.
We encourage the participation of all individuals and institutions interested in international education and exchange activities, including schools, colleges and universities, embassies, international organizations, businesses, associations, and community organizations.
All events require advance registration (except the IRC Open House). If you have not registered, you will not be able to attend the event.

Monday, November 14: IRC Open House & Quiz, 3rd Floor, Rose Garden Tower
2-4pm Students have a chance to become familiar with the resources at the IRC and participate in a quiz about America. Free books, gifts, and prizes will be awarded to quiz participants. Refreshments provided.
Wednesday, November 16: “U.S. Scholarship Opportunities” Panel Discussion
9-11am Representatives and alumni from U.S. Scholarship programs, including Fulbright, Humphrey, and VEF will discuss application procedures and study experiences.
Thursday, November 17: “Studying in the U.S.”
2-3pm Student Visa Presentation: U.S. Embassy Consular staff will give a presentation on the visa application process for students.
3-4pm Locating Resources for Studying in the U.S.: A representative from IIE will give a presentation on finding various resources for undergraduate/graduate studies in the U.S., researching colleges, and preparing for the TOEFL/GRE.
5-6pm Live Webchat: 2 American hosts will answer questions in an online chat about student life in the U.S. Please email irchanoi@gmail.com for the password and visit http://paschat.dyndns.org/ to join the chat. Please note that the chat session is active only from 4:30pm, November 17, 2005.
Friday, November 18: “English Connect”
2-3:30pm Participants have an opportunity to meet Americans and practice speaking English. Participants will be divided up into groups and will be introduced to one American speaker, who will lead a discussion on aspects of American life. We will rotate speakers every 20 minutes, giving groups a chance to discuss three different topics.
