Four older women, all Chinese immigrants living in San Francisco, meet regularly to play mah-jong, eat, and tell stories. Each of these women have adult Chinese-American daughters. The film reveals the hidden pasts of the older women and explores cultural conflict and the relationships between mothers and daughters. The film is structured as a series of vignettes told from the perspectives of the different women.

Students from the University of Houston’s Bauer College of Business are taking a trip through Laos, Cambodia, Thailand and Vietnam. While in Vietnam, they will visit the American Center to do a presentation on global citizenship, social entrepreneurship, and corporate globalization citizenship. This is a great opportunity to see what concepts this American university is teaching in their international business courses.

The presenters will focus on American habits at the table and kitchen, while carving, cooking and serving their award-winning American chicken recipe (a.k.a. El Super Pollo) to the audience. The chicken dance will not be performed.
