During her July 10-11 visit to Hanoi, Secretary Clinton met with over 250 State Department exchange alumni to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the Fulbright program in Vietnam. Alumna Thao Griffiths introduced the Secretary with a personal testimonial about the way her Fulbright experience shaped her subsequent life and career. Griffiths also praised the Secretary for her efforts to support women around the world, and for acting as a personal role model for women and girls. In her remarks, Secretary Clinton highlighted the contributions of Fulbright and State Alumni to strengthening bilateral relations. Following her remarks, Secretary Clinton met briefly with eight female alumni who have actively contributed to Vietnam’s economic development.
