Cultural Exchange Through Dance

Members of the Trey McIntyre Project and the Theater of Vietnamese Music, Song and Dance smile after their public performance at Hanoi’s Au Co Theater.

From May 13-17 the Embassy hosted acclaimed American contemporary ballet company the Trey McIntyre Project in Hanoi.  In addition to a public performance at the capital’s Au Co Theater the night of May 16, the dance company held creative sessions with artists of the Theater of Vietnam Music, Dance & Song, as well as students & lecturers of the Vietnam Dance College.  The artists also visited the SOS Children’s Village in Hanoi and taught the children basic dance steps.  The group travelled next to Ho Chi Minh City as part of their DanceMotion USA tour.
