Fulbright Program in Vietnam
Fulbright In-country Travel Program
Objectives:
The in-country Travel Program is designed to respond to the growing needs of U.S. senior scholars by the Vietnamese colleges, universities, and think tanks.
On the one hand, the program gives Vietnamese institutions the opportunity to benefit from the academic and professional expertise of the Fulbright scholars during their assignment in Vietnam. On the other hand, it offers the scholars the opportunity to go to places other than his/her institution in order to learn more about the country and its people and culture.
Scholar’s Activities:
Below are some of the ways the Fulbright scholars can conduct or participate in. Please be noted that each trip lasts from 2 days (minimum) to 5 days (maximum)
• Seminars
• Workshops
• Participation in Conferences (as key note speaker and/or as session chair)
Funding:
The in-country travel program operates on a cost sharing basis. The Fulbright Program in Vietnam pays for the scholar’s travel expenses. The inviting institutions will cover other expenses such as accommodation and meals. So far most hosts cover these expenses for hotels and meals at the rate of the grantee's counterpart, i.e. a senior Vietnamese scholar coming from out of town.
Funding will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.
How to invite a scholar?
Please visit List of scholars AY 2009-2010 for the scholars' information and a list of topics for seminars/workshops/talks that they can conduct. Please study the list and advise us promptly on your interest in inviting any of the scholars.
