The U.S Citizen Services unit issues emergency U.S. passports, renews passports, and provides additional passport pages as necessary.
Information on U.S. passports and fees is available on the State Department's website.
In order to make an appointment for passport service, please visit our Appointment System.
If your passport has been lost or stolen, you should also bring a local police report and some form of identification. A replacement can be issued upon presentation of proof of identify and U.S. citizenship.
All fees are payable in U.S. dollars in cash, or by the following credit cards: Visa, Mastercard, Discover and American Express. The Embassy does not accept checks or Vietnamese Dong.
In addition, the Embassy can only accept dollars in good condition. Notes that are taped, washed, torn, damaged, or have excessive marks or blemishes will not be accepted.
We will forward passport applications to the National Passport Center in the U.S. The National Passport Center will print the passport and send it back to us. This process will take approximately two weeks, so we strongly encourage you to apply for a passport well before any planned travel.
The Consular Section cannot be responsible for unacceptable photographs. Following are photo shops that can provide required photos for U.S. passports.
