THE AMERICAN CENTER

REGULATIONS

User’s responsibilities:

Register online to become our member and receive update information via email http://creator.zoho.com/pashanoi/form/14.

No outside materials and handbags at the Center. Users can keep their belongings in the lockers outside of the American Center, however, the AC is not responsible for any losses that might occur.

Users must not damage any Center’s property. This includes writing in or marking books and journals or removing pages, labels or any part of Center’s materials. After reading, put them on the mobile for staff to reshelf.

Events for the public are regularly organized, register to attend at http://creator.zoho.com/pashanoi/form/10 and kindly notify the AC if any cancelations happen at http://creator.zoho.com/pashanoi/form/1. Additional information on our programs is available at: http://vietnam.usembassy.gov/program.html.

Books and magazines: You can use Library World to search the American Center's collections. Please click here for the guidelines. No circulation of any materials. Users can take away one book per day from the Free Material Shelf outside of the Center. Taking out library’s property without registering is considered to be theft.

Photocopying: Users can use the photocopier to make copies from books and magazines (up to 10 pages per day). Remember to stamp the Copyright Note on the first page.

Computers: Users can use computers for Internet access and doing research. Internet access is primarily for the research needs and academic use. Downloading programs onto American Center computers is not allowed, nor accessing to unauthorized websites. A limit of one hour is in place when others are queuing. Users must not use computers for chatting or playing online games. Users can print up to 10 pages per day on American Studies.

Users can use wireless headphones to listen to CNN and remember to turn it off after use.

CDs/DVDs: Users can ask AC staff to borrow CDs/DVDs or portable DVD players to watch movies.

Smoking, eating, and drinking are not allowed at the American Center.

Bring ID to get access to the Center. No advance appointment is needed.
